Every day I light and offer incense to the deities on the altar, whether they originate from Kishna Consciousness, Hindiusm, Egyptian alchemical discourse, Ancient Sumerian mythology, tantra or Pagan tradition. The purpose is to recognise and maintain a "Spiritual" focus throughout the day, sanctifying the mundane, day-to-day experience, setting intention, and at the same time imbuing my temple body with the qualities the deities represent.
Sometimes our minds need a tangible, visible representation of that which is invisible to the material eye, formless and ephemeral. This is my way of connecting to that, both within and without, and offering all my daily efforts up to that. What is yours...?
